Organizing my wedding at the RIU Caribe hotel was a total nightmare. We changed to the wedding coordinator three times and when we arrived at the hotel, the coordinator who received us was a person with whom we had never had contact before.
If you are going to organize your wedding in the RIU Caribe, ask as coordinator to Osiris and to the girl that she is training (pedón, I do not remember her name). Osiris was excellent and seems to be the only coordinator who knew what was happening at the hotel, the others with whom we had exchanged e-mails gave us wrong information.
The impression I got from the wedding department at the RIU chain hotels in Mexico is that they were very disorganized, they do not answer your questions unless the borders and the information they give you is confusing. The wedding department was divided into two or more departments, one in charge of handling wedding reservations and the other to organize weddings. Obviously, the reservations department is the first one with which you have contact and as a girlfriend one wants to know what the hotel offers before making the reservation. The reservations department knew nothing about what happens at weddings and it took several days to respond to my e-mails. Once we had left the hotel and started planning the details of the wedding, we received the news that the hotel reception told one of my guests that there was no wedding scheduled at the hotel. Apparently, the wedding department did not contact the reception because this happened two or three times. In addition, one of the coordinators had told us by e-mail that we could take my dress and my boyfriend's suit to iron to the hotel reception. When we arrived and took the dress and the suit to reception, one of the ladies told us that the reception did not take care of this service and that we had to arrange it with the coordinator. The coordinator had to go with me to the reception to accept that they were responsible (the reception) to organize the ironing.
The day of my wedding everything was very beautiful, the flowers were beautiful, the food at the restaurant "María Margarita" was delicious and the ceremony was very beautiful. The DJ was also good but the sound system did not allow to listen to the lyrics of the songs, which was disappointing.
Planning a wedding is a very important part of the process. Even though Osiris' wedding and work was excellent, I do not recommend any bride to the RIU Caribe hotel because they do not know how to communicate and give wrong information. Organizing my wedding with them was very stressful.
Very pretty. The food was delicious. The extraordinary attention and everything was perfect.
